Project Programme: World Drug Day 2015 (Fort Portal)
Activity: The 2nd Substance & Drug Abuse Youth Summit 2015 (#2DAYS15)-Western Uganda
CPAUG since 2010 has been undertaking some campaign initiatives on malaria, nutrition and climate change in some selected Ugandan schools and its on this premises that they are now planning to execute the C-HAELTH Initiative in Uganda as a way of engaging a wide participation and acceptance of the underlying challenges to Uganda’s transformation process from the health Sector. The event is expected to attract around 400 students from around 4-6 secondary schools in Kabarole (Fort Portal) and Kasese Districts.
CPAUG is now implementing this activity as a follow-up to the 2014 DAYS event held in Mbale District that attracted close to 300 participants (students and teacher) who made several recommendations to this effect. There shall be a Teachers session, media campaign & Students Summit on 21st and 22nd September 2015 respectively.
The purpose of this activity is to continue the campaign and compliment NDA’s ongoing work on creating awareness among the youth in and of school about the need to engage and have them participate in the campaign against substance and drug abuse in Uganda.
Its expected that the Students would have been informed about the dangers of drug abuse and their responsibilities.
