Activity: The 2nd Population and Health Youth Summit 2015 (#2POPHUTS15)
Theme: “Young People as Change Agents in Emergencies”
As CPAUG marks its 10th Anniversary in 2015, it wants to use this summit to continue engaging the NMS to interact with the youth in sharing information about health and people in line with the NMS mandate. CPAUG is now implementing this activity as a follow-up to the youth summit held at Our Lady of Good Counsel, Gayaza in September 2014 supported by NMS. The proposed date is 25th Sept. 2015.
Expecting at least 4-6 secondary schools in Wakiso District (Gayaza Town Council) to participate in the Summit and around 400 students will participate.
The Chief Guest is expected to be the Hon. Minister for Primary Health Care, Governmnet of the Republic of Uganda and the Keynote Speaker is the General Manager of the National Medical Stores. Others speakers will be drawn from NDA, NPA, Uganda Red Cross Society, Uganda AIDS Commission
Purpose: This activity is to continue engaging the youth in playing their role as change agents in the health sector as they constitute 60% of the country’s population in case of any emergence. This is in line with the 2015 World Population Day theme: “Vulnerable Populations in Emergencies”
