Uganda Celebrates Girls ICT Day 2014

With support from the Uganda Communications Commissions (UCC), the Commonwealth Peoples’ Association of Uganda (CPAUG) held a Girls in ICT Day at Kinawa High School in Wakiso district with a students ICT Debate attended by around 150 students doing computer at the school. This event was a pre- World Telecom./Information Society Day 2014 activity with the them “Broadband for sustainable development.”


Speaking to the student’s the Executive Director of CPAUG shared with them why the day was designated in 2012 by ITU focusing on girls and its importance in line with the country’s digital migration road-map. At the same event CPAUG shared with the student’s the EU/Google handbook called the Web We want.
