As part of the 2014 Commonwealth Day events in Uganda, CPAUG today, 6th March, 2014 recognized one of its partners, National Drug Authority (NDA) with a certificate of appreciation for its support during the last two years (2012-2013) towards its advocacy campaigns on Health issues targeting eth youth in educational institutions in Uganda. The CPAUG Team was received by Mr. Julius Babiiha, Drug and Information Department with members of the same department and the public relations office at NDA.
Speaking to the team, Mr. Julius Babiiha informed the members about NDA’s work in the area of Drug Abuse that they have done in the past that included the sensitization of students in primary and secondary schools in all the regions of the country where NDA has offices reaching to around 23 schools as pilot project. He continued to say that NDA will endeavor to see it that in the future they work with partners like CPAUG to that effect when the project finally gets funding from the Authority.
CPAUG also handed over a copy of the Commonwealth Charter to the Authority which outlines the key principles that all Commonwealth countries agreed upon during CHOGM 2011. The CPAUG team was led by the Executive Director, Mr. Kiapi K. Frederick
